Another one down!

Down a pound down a pound!! Only 8 to go!!! I'm on a roll. I'm just screaming in my head "don't mess this up don't mess this up!" I'm my own worse enemy. I sabotage myself so easily. I seem to go in spirts of weight loss. I lose a lot and then I stop for a while and then I lose again. I feel like I'm fighting time. Fighting the inevitable platue that is coming. Hopefully I can hit my goal before that happens. Stay focused Kelli! Focus focus focus. I can do this!! I'm so close I can taste it.

On a running note. I ran this morning, hill, up and down the hill 7 times. I felt really good. Much better then Saturday.

12 miles

This is me just getting back from my run. My son took the picture of me. I feel like I'm strapped down with so much equipment I could fly to the moon. I've got my camelbak back pack on to keep me hydrated, my ipod strapped to my arm which communicates with a chip in my shoe keeping track of my pace and how far I've run and under my shirt I'm wearing a belt around my ribs tracking my heart rate and communicates with my hr monitor watch which tracks my HR at all times and what zone I'm in. There was a time when running only required a good pair of shoes and sports bra. It seams that those times are gone although I still enjoy a gadget free run every now and then.
Well I did it, 12 miles, but that is all I did. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't easy, really it was a crappy run. I felt good the first hour but after that I was ready to be done. I walked for 1 minute a few times which helped. I stopped at the gym and used their restroom towards the end of the run and I very ungracefully finished the last 2 miles hating every step I took. I hope this is just a bad run and not going to become a common thing. After a run like this I doubt my ability to accomplish this whole marathon although I'm still as determined as ever.

The whole enchilata!

I realize that no one probably reads this anymore because I'm so bad at updating but in an effort to keep a little record I am posting again. So a little over a month ago one of my running friends and I decided to train for a whole marathon. Kind of a check it off the bucket list type of thing. So we both hired a personal trainer. We decided if we were going to do this we wanted to do it right. It is hard giving up freedom and doing whatever this lady says I should do but I think it is helping. Here is an general outline of what I do each week.

Monday: Hills. Up and down a steep hill 4-6 time with a 1 mile warm up and cool down.
Swim. Working up 1 mile but I skip this a lot on Mondays and do it Saturday Because I run out of time. This week 1200 yards
Tuesday: Spin class 45 minute
Zumba
Wednesday: Run 3-6 miles
Swim 1200 this week
Thursday: Spin class
Zumba 2 classes
Friday: Speed work
TRX class for strength
Saturday: Long run. This week 9 miles

So, what do you think, I probably need to work out a little more, right? Its hard core but it is helping. I'm getting faster and my body is taking a totally different shape. I've been this weight before, even smaller, but my legs have never been this thin. They don't rub when I walk! My abs are getting definition and I've never heard my husband make so many comments about my butt before. Its pretty fun!

So far the training is going well. Its intense and time consuming but my husband is WONDERFUL and supporting me as I leave the house to train. I've already visited my chiropractor twice. Once for my hip, once for my back which still hurts. I'm grateful everyday for a healthy uninjured body and hope I avoid any serious injury.

I'm running my Marathon in Oregon, where I'm from with some friends of mine. I'm really excited. I will try and post more as I train. 9.5 mile run today! It went well but I am tired.
